Music Video Anyalysis

In the video, you can see that there is a gang of men beating up the one person training to become a boxer. The representations is that all young people are in some sort of gang, always causing some sort of mischief. Also the fact that the guy is sleeping on a mattress on the floor implies that he is poor or lower than working class; this suggests that the area he is in is the poorer parts of the country showing that people in that area are always fighting and ganging up on people. Furthermore you can see the stereotype where all the people in the gangs wear chains and have shaved heads and crazy hairstyles such as the Mohawk. This reinforces the stereotypes. Lastly there is the stereotype that all boxers were delinquents or were always getting into trouble. The boxer is getting beaten up which reinforces the stereotype.
You can also see some representations of the female ballerina. Her dad is possibly rich from the shirt and tie he wears as well the fact that the house is a lot more cleaner and modern than the boxers home. She also sleeps on a proper bed. This kind of challenges the stereotype of all rich people are snobby, ignorant, spoiled brats. The girls back chatting and giving dirty looks reinforces that all females are like that.

There are some representations of people from England in this video. You can see that there is the stereotype where every person from England has crooked teeth, as you can see Freddie Mercury singing as well as the other Queen members too. Also there is the stereotype that all English people have big crazy hair and huge side burns. Not to mention the clothes that the Queen members are wearing, very bright and colourful, this is another stereotype where bands back then were always wearing clothes that were super bright and strange. Although the clothes could suggest that the members are very confident as they don't care what other people think about them. The stereotypes in this video are all reinforced since nothing in this video challenges the stereotypes.

The main stereotype would be is that all rappers are black people. However in this video it challenges that stereotype as you can see Eminem is white and not black. Another stereotype is that all black people are good rappers while white people aren't very good at rapping, this challenged the white people aren't good at rapping stereotype since Eminem is considered to be the best rapper in the world despite being white.
